Professional Image (Dress Code)

A professional image is a requirement for successful participation in school. Students must maintain the following professional dress code:

  1. Students will be issued a name badge during the first week of school. The name badge is to be worn AT ALL TIMES while in school.
  2. Hair and makeup must be done PRIOR to arriving at school and should reflect professional industry standards.
  3. Clothing must be clean, properly fitted and professional.
  4. Hair must be clean and styled prior to arriving at school.
  5. Core and Adaptive students must wear all black clothing. Creative students may wear black and white. Students may choose to accessorize with tasteful pops of color through shoes, jewelry, makeup, or hair to express individuality while maintaining professionalism.
  6. Skirts and dresses must be at least fingertip length and MUST provide full coverage when standing, sitting, bending, and lifting arms. dress.
  7. Leggings must be opaque otherwise worn with appropriately long tops.
  8. Hygiene must be maintained. Nails must be clean and professional.
  9. Body modifications must not interfere with safety or sanitation standards.
  10. The following is a list of unacceptable dress:
    a. Logos or printed T-shirts other than those with a PAUL MITCHELL logo, no inappropriate graphics, slogans, or imagery.
    b. Tank or sleeveless tops.
    c. Crop tops or tops that expose midriff.
    d. Hoods are not to be worn on the head indoors.
    e. Open-toed shoes.
    f. Slippers or shoes with no backs.
    g. Sweatpants, athletic shorts or pajama style pants. 
    h. Distressed / ripped pants above the knee. (Black jeans are permitted only if solid black and free of distressing and rips above the knee).

Overly tight, excessively loose, sheer, or revealing clothing. Undergarments must not be visible. 

Students who fail to comply with the professional image (dress code) will be asked to leave and return with appropriate attire and may lose clock hours in accordance with school policy.
